医学成像

The 医学成像 Department oversees programs and courses related to the imaging technologies area of allied health careers. The department has clinical affiliations with every major medical institution in the Capital Region, and graduates are highly sought-after.

The department oversees the following academic programs:

Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography (Certificate)
Echocardiographers, who are also called cardiac ultrasound technologists or technicians, use sonographic equipment to detect possible blood clots inside the heart, fluid buildup in the pericardium or other abnormalities. Echocardiography is also used to detect heart problems in the fetus, infants, children and adults.

Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Certificate)
超声波检验师, who are also called ultrasound technologists or technicians, use special imaging equipment that directs sound waves into a patient's body to assess and diagnose various medical conditions.

Radiologic Technology (A.A.S.)
Radiologic technologists, also called X-ray technologists, perform diagnostic imaging examinations, 比如x射线, 对病人. This degree prepares you with a full understanding of the principles of the diagnostic uses of radiation.

学生s in this department receive academic advisement by appointment.

First-year students will receive advisement at orientation and should complete the 医学成像 Freshman Orientation Day registration form.

All students in the department must have the Health Science Physical Form (PDF) 和学生 Immunization Form (PDF) filled out and brought to the 卫生服务 office by Aug. 1. Failure to do so can possibly delay your clinical start for the semester.

NOTE: As indicated on the 学生 Immunization Form (PDF), all students in the School of 健康科学 are also required to have a two-step Mantoux if their last Mantoux test was more than 12 months ago (NO EXCEPTIONS).
